Bellows Field Beach Park

One of Oahu's best body boarding locations

The Beach

Remarked as one of O’ahu’s prettiest beaches, Bellows Beach offers its visitors a lush landscape glittered with ironwood trees that provide shaded areas perfect for picnicking, grilling and numerous camping spots.

This beach has soft white sands stretching just over half a mile long and are apart of O’ahu’s longest stretch of sandy shoreline when including its neighboring beach Waimanalo. Its visitors can see all the way down its coastline towards the southern most point Makapu’u Beach Park located right across from Sea Life Park.

Bellows Beach is known as one of the locals favorite locations for body boarding, surfing and fish as this beach provides the ideal conditions and waves for doing so. Securing a spot here can be a little competitive on a nice day, so arriving in the early hours is suggested.

In the town of Waimanalo you can find a few local eats like the Ruka Bowl Food Truck where you can grab a refreshing smoothing bowl or some spicy poke. There’s also Ono’s Steak and Shrimp Shack where they provide delicious seafood and burger options for take out and Keneke’s where you can snack on some scrumptious plate-lunch, quintessential Hawaiian meal.

Generally the beach is only open for public access over the weekends if military training is reserved, so it’s best to check in advance for better planning your visit.
