Trendy Honolulu restaurant with a modern island take on Vietnamese cuisine
This downtown Honolulu restaurant is the work of James Beard semifinalist Chef Andrew Le. Starting years ago as a pop-up restaurant, Chef Le’s flavorful dishes have carried the restaurant into a staple of Honolulu dining. The menu has many dishes you would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant, like your banh mi and pho, but with a modern take and an island twist.
Inside, The Pig & The Lady has a modern, trendy vibe. Think Gastropub meets Asian fusion. Make sure you get reservations ahead of time, the restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike, so expect a line if you don’t think ahead.
The Pig & The Lady has kept to its roots as well, you can check it out at various Farmers Markets, such as the Blaisdell Farmers Market, Kailua Town Center Farmers Market, Kapiolani Community College Farmers Market, and the Mililani High School Farmers Market. Or check out Piggy Smalls, it’s sister restaurant with a pared-down menu in Ward Village.
The menu is chock full of flavorful dishes but if can’t decided, try these..
Pho French Dip
Le Fried Chicken Wings
P&L Soft Serve
Parking is pretty tight downtown, look out for metered street parking or park in one of the parking garages in the area.
