Kuhio Beach at Waikiki

Family friendly beach on the South Shore

The Beach

Akin to its neighboring beach, Queen’s Beach, Kuhio Beach was named after a member of the Hawaiian royal family, Prince Kuhio. It also shares its similarity with Queen’s for being a popular destination for bodyboarding.

Kuhio Beach is situated between the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel and the Kapahulu Groin. In the forefront of Kuhio Beach Park there are three well known landmarks related to the history of the area. The first being a statue of Kuhio himself, the second of Duke Kahanamoku one of Hawaii’s remember surfers, and finally the Stones of Kapaemahu. Additionally, there will be scheduled hula shows at the front of Kuhio Beach.

This beach is a family friendly location for swimming and enjoying some fun in the sun. Its waters are crystal blue and the sand is a soft gold making this destination look absolutely mesmerizing. Although Kuhio Beach is generally very busy, it has a lot to offer its visitors if you’re okay with a big crowd.
